CLIMBING ARBORIST/TREE TRIMMER TRAINEE(GROUNDMAN/GROUNDPERSON) **MEMBERS ONLY**SIGN UP NOW*** | RESIDENTIAL & COMMERCIAL DIVISION |SAN RAMON, CA Davey Residential, a division of **MEMBERS ONLY**SIGN UP NOW***, is seeking a Climbing Arborist Trainee (Groundman/Groundperson) to join our Residential/Commercial team in San Ramon, CA (East Bay/San Francisco Bay Area). Those with prior experience in Forestry, Landscape or working at height are encouraged to apply. Experience in related fields of work (construction, landscaping) or outdoor work experience (lawn care, trail maintenance) is desirable.
Trainees will work directly with the territory's trainer and crew leaders to learn all aspects of Arboricultural operations. After familiarization with ground duties such as job-site setup, chipping, and chainsaw operation, Trainees will learn skills necessary for pruning trees to ANSI A300 guidelines. Trainees will progress through Davey's Career Development Program as they learn to utilize ropes for ascending and working in trees.
DUTIES:
*Function as a member of a tree crew while progressively learning new skills *Make satisfactory progress in Davey's Career Development Program *Operate chainsaws, chippers, stump grinders, and other equipment as needed on job-sites *Utilize ropes for work positioning at heights up to 60 feet, while pruning or removing trees *Maintain issued personal gear, crew gear, and equipment *Learn tree Identification and ANSI A300 Pruning guidelines
QUALIFICATIONS:
*Love of the outdoors - willingness to work outdoors during a variety of weather conditions *Ability to and willingness to thrive in a physically demanding position *Demonstrated ability to report for work regularly and punctually *Willingness to learn to prune trees and shrubs from ground *Active and valid Driver's License *Understand the safe use of equipment (handsaw, chippers, chainsaws, etc) *Ability to complete the Davey Tree Trimmer Orientation Program upon hire *Ability to complete the Davey Tree First Aid, CPR and Defensive Driving courses upon hire *An ideal candidate will have tree care experience or work experience in a related field (landscaping, construction).

This is a full-time, hourly position with opportunity for overtime. Compensation is based on experience, with incentives for completing training and certifications.
